The news of President Thomas S. Monson's passing inspired within me a desire to read his talks from General Conference. Since being called as an apostle in 1963, President Monson has given over two hundred talks! I tried to convince myself that this was a silly idea, a waste of time, an unnecessary pursuit; however, the feeling wouldn't go away. I decided to watch his first address on YouTube (click here to watch it) and was immediately overcome with love for this man whom I have sustained and prayed for daily. As I continue to read his talks, my love for this man increases, my knowledge grows, and my testimony is strengthened.
I will update after each year the things that I learnt, and share my favorite quote(s) from the talks.
I am reading chronologically from oldest to newest. I will link to the original talk at the bottom of each post. My hope is I will come to better know President Monson, strengthen my own testimony, and become a better writer and speaker.
I am excited to go on this journey.
