1963

this year I am reading all the talks President Monson gave in General Conference
here are my thoughts on the talk he gave in 1963

October 1963
I stand at the Door and Knock

This talk was filled with humility, gratitude, and love.

I couldn't get over how young he looked!
He was young! He was only 36 years old!!!! That is only a few years older than I am right now.

I love that he talked about how grateful he was for his parents, wife, children, and teachers. As he spoke, I could feel the love he had for them.

He bore a simple and sweet testimony about our Savior and the prophet. He pledged his life to the work of the lord and he did exactly that. His life was a legacy of love, service, and work.

This quote was my favorite from his talk, "Sweetest feeling we can feel in all this life is to feel His promptings as He directs us in the furthering of His work." I hope to feel that more consistently in my life, as I strive to do just that.
