Book of Mormon
Wives of the Nephites
Alma 43:9, 45; Alma 44:5; 46:12; 48:10, 24; 58:12
46:12 - "and it came to pass that he rent his coat; and he took a piece thereof, and wrote upon it - In memory of our God, our religion, and freedom, and our peace, our wives, and our children - and he fastened it upon the end of a pole."
Being a former military wife, I feel a strong connection to these women. I know what it is like to witness your husband prepare and go to war. I know how it feels to say goodbye and not know if you will have to opportunity to see your husband again, in this life. I know the constant worry that sticks in the back of your mind. I know the strength they have within them that allows them to keep going. I can hear their prayers, and can see their tears because that was me.
These were hardworking, faithful, and strong women.
During my husband's deployment, I put my trust in my Heavenly Father. I needed Him to get me through everyday. I had faith in His plan for our family. I drew strength from the women in the scriptures. I read their stories, and how they faced challenges. I counted each and everyday till my husband came home.
I love these women and the sacrifices they made.
these are my own opinions
