Book Seven : Erased by Jennifer Rush
(book two in the Altered series)
Cas cleared his throat, which was his way of warning me that what he was about to say wouldn't be good. "We know only one girl our age with reddish-brown hair who would be asking for you, banana."
Nick and Sam shared a look. Sam gave the barest of nods.
"Who?"
"Dani," Sam said.
After fleeing the Branch with Sam, Cas, and Nick, Anna is trying to make sense of the memories resurfacing from her old life. At the same time, she's learning how to survive in hiding, following Sam's rules: Don't draw attention to yourself. Always carry a weapon. Know your surroundings. Watch your back.
Then a figure from Anna's childhood reappears. Is it a Branch setup, or could it be the reunion Anna has hoped for? Uncertain of where her loyalties lie, Anna must fight to learn the truth -- before she is betrayed again. Ultimately, the answers hinge on one question: What was the real reason her memories were erased?
My Thoughts : HOLY CRAP!!! I KNEW IT!!! I knew Dani was alive!!!
This book picks up two months after book one ends, and immediately I was sucked right back in. In this book, we learn a lot more about Anna's life. It was interesting to see that the boys were always a big part of her life. I loved Anna's tenacity in book one, and she didn't let up in book two.
This book had a lot to do with Nick. I had really like Nick in book one, even if he was the world's biggest jerk. I knew there was more to his story, and I was right. It was nice to see a softer side of him.
Whenever I read about Trev, I always thought of that saying, "You made your bed now lie in it." I couldn't help but feel sorry for him. He knows he made a mistake by turning on them in book one.
Much like book one, this book had it's fair share of twists and turns. I was in shock about a couple things but you'll have to read those yourself : )
I will say that this book was just not long enough. It was only two hundred and seventy five pages, and even then the text was huge with giant spaces!! Come on Jennifer Rush I need more!!
Overall I still loved it.
five out of five stars
